REVELATION SERMON SERIES RESOURCE

Studying the book of Revelation can seem intimidating.

It is full of wild images and some mysteriously clouded prophecies of future events.

But for the last 2,000 years, the book of Revelation has given COURAGE and HOPE to Christians around the world.

While the Apostle John was exiled to the isle of Patmos for preaching the gospel, he received a vision from the Holy Spirit. John later wrote what he saw and sent it as a letter to a group of churches experiencing persecution for their faith and being tempted to give in to the ungodly culture around them.

While Revelation does speak to future events, it is much more than that!

As the church today, we carry the same mission of the gospel as the original hearers of John’s Revelation and can have the same confidence during difficult days.

Revelation is written to bring hope and courage to Christians across generations as it lets us know that we can stand in the face of persecution and trial because Christ has overcome and is coming again.

I am praying that as we gather to worship at Harvest over the next number of months, God will use His Word to empower us to live with supernatural joy, steadfast hope, and an unwavering witness as we anchor ourselves in the reality that Christ is on His throne today and has won the victory over the enemy.
