BRACEBRIDGE LEAD PASTOR
COME SERVE WITH US!
The Role: Location Lead Pastor
Denomination: Non-denominational Church in partnership with the Great Commission Collective
Weekly Attendance: 200+
Location: Bracebridge, Ontario
Harvest is a collaborative group of three small-town churches across Muskoka and Parry Sound each with their own leadership and staff, that are united by one common goal: to glorify God by connecting people to the life of knowing and following Jesus!
We love small towns, and we don’t think that small town means small mission or small vision, so we are looking to plant, equip and support healthy local small-town churches through leadership development, strong collaborative relationships, and shared resources and infrastructure.
We are unashamedly all about the local Church because we believe that the local church is the hope of the world, and we also know we can achieve infinitely more united together as local churches than we ever could alone.
Until now our Harvest Lead Pastor has been preaching at and overseeing both our Huntsville and Bracebridge locations but only as a temporary solution while we prayerfully seek out a Bracebridge Lead Pastor.
If you’re looking to jump into this role you might be asking, “What’s it like to be a part of the Harvest Staff Team? Are we the right fit for you?”
Our staff is truly a family where we serve together with a ton of laughter and a lot of joy because nothing is more fun than serving God with people you love.
The work we get to do here is challenging but super rewarding as we look to do everything to bring glory to Christ by making disciples.
We see it as an honor to sacrifice for Christ and his church as we give up what we love for what we love even more.
We are a faith-filled, big-thinking, all-in for the mission risk takers and so, we will live to honor Christ and His church with an all-in passion and a lived-out authenticity as we give everything to see the lost saved, the saved matured and the matured multiplied.
We hope this is the place where your skills, talents, and passions meet.
God is on mission here, and we want you to be part of it.
MISSION: We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
As a church, we are called to carry out the Great Commission in the spirit of Great Commandment, so our mission statement was created to capture both biblical mandates. Our mission drives everything we do. We hope that this calling to see the lost saved, the saved matured and the matured multiplied serves as an invitation to actively participate with us in the work of the Lord rather than remain a passive observer.
PRIORITIES: These 5 unaltering priorities keep us resolutely focused on our mission:
CENTERED ON THE WORD (2 TIM 3:14-4:5, 2 TIM 2:15, HEB 4:12)
We believe in the power, authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture for life and godliness.
We will preach unapologetically with practical application of the Word of God and each member will be equipped and encouraged to grow and mature in their love and confidence in the Word and apply it to their lives. Every ministry from Kids to Youth to Life Groups will be saturated in God’s Word.
FERVENT IN WORSHIP (ISA 6, PS 95:6, EPH 3:20-21)
Worship that engages our deepest affections for God and expresses the truth of his faithfulness, glory, and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
We come expecting God’s manifest presence as we gather on Sundays to lift high the name of Jesus in worship. It will be common in our services to see the church fully engaged in heart, mind and body with hands raised, bowed down, celebratory, dynamic, God-glorifying, all-in worship. Our desire is that Sunday will be an overflow of hearts worshipping daily.
CONSTANT IN PRAYER (ROM 12:12, COL 4:2, EPH 6:18)
Prayer that is dependent on God and expectant for Him to act based on his character and promises.
Prayer will be urgent and often, both planned and spontaneous as the church gathers to pray regularly and quickly goes to prayer alone and with others, rather than just talking about prayer.
COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY (1 COR 12:12-26, GAL 6:2-3; HEB 10:24-25)
A commitment to consistent growth and accountability within a community of believers.
We will intentionally pursue Christ-centered, gospel saturated, authentic and transparent relationships with believers in the church. We will encourage, exhort, serve, forgive, love, care and be devoted to each other as we live life together serving each other and the world.
COURAGEOUS ON MISSION (ACTS 20:24, EPH 6:19-20, JAM 2:22-27)
Courageously sharing the good news of Jesus by speaking and living out the gospel.
Jesus didn’t leave us to wonder what we should be doing as his followers and as the church. In Acts 1:8 he told us that we would be his witnesses throughout the world. When God’s love transforms us, it’s impossible to contain it within the walls of our homes or church. His love will overflow into real, tangible love for our community as we demonstrate and declare the gospel.
CULTURAL VALUES:
We value simplicity, clarity, and urgency.
We strive to make our model simple and clear, and we understand that we have an urgent and eternally important mission
We will make every effort to reach people who don’t know Christ.
We will do this by actively living the gospel, loving our communities and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
We always bring our best.
While we are open that we are not a perfect church, we believe that excellence honors God and inspires people.
We give up things we love for things we love even more.
It’s an honor to sacrifice for Christ and His church.
We are spiritual contributors not spiritual consumers.
We are the church, and we exist for God’s glory to demonstrate and declare the gospel to the world.
We are faith-filled, big-thinking, all-in for the mission, risk takers.
We’ll never insult God with small thinking and safe living.
We will lead the way with irrational generosity.
We truly believe it is more blessed to give than to receive.
We are not afraid to ask the hard questions.
We are committed to speak the truth in love.
We will lead with humility.
We see that humility is the foundation of all the other virtues and so where there is no humility everything else is just a show.
We are all about the “capital C” Church.
The local church is the hope of the world, and we know we can accomplish infinitely more together than apart.
The mission is difficult but filled with joy.
Nothing is more fun than serving God with people you love.
We are committed to equip the saints for the work of ministry.
Pastors will put their energy into fulfilling our mission to make disciples who make disciples.
We value authenticity, transparency, and vulnerability.
We know our deep need for the grace of God and so we will not hide in shame or sin.
We will pursue true community.
The Christian life was not meant to be walked alone so we will intentionally pursue gospel-saturated relationships.
The Location Lead Pastor will be the primary leader, teacher and preacher for the Bracebridge church.
The Location Lead Pastor will work with his local elders and leadership teams to lead and develop Harvest Bracebridge toward the realization of the vision of changed lives in the local context while partnering with the other locations under the leadership of the Harvest Church Lead Pastor (who also serves as our Huntsville Lead Pastor) and a Central Ministry Support Team to accomplish the mission and vision across Muskoka/Parry Sound and around the globe with our global outreach partners. As of now, our Huntsville and Bracebridge locations share an Admin Director, Family Pastor, Discipleship Pastor, Soul Care Pastor, and Kids Director.
The candidate for this role will be a person of high integrity, genuine authenticity, strong character, highly relational, and collaborative. He will also be a loving shepherd, a visionary leader, and a gifted communicator who effectively and powerfully teaches and preaches the Word of God.
